Alabama A&M golf in third place after Day 1 of HBCU Classic

The Alabama A&M University men’s golf team sits in third after the opening round of the 39th Annual Thomas W. Dortch Jr. HBCU Classic on Monday at the Stone Mountain Golf Course.
 
Alabama A&M shot a first-round 26-over-par 306 and is tied at third with Chicago State. Arkansas-Pine Bluff (292) leads the field and is 10 shots better than Tennessee State. Maryland Eastern Shore is fifth with a 307, followed by North Carolina Central (308) and Southern (312).
 
Niall Bagnall is tied for fifth after a first-round 74. Teammate Lukas Lange is 10th after shooting a 5-over-par 75. Samuel Boodie fired a 78 and is tied for 20th, followed by Kourey Patterson and Fabian Sanchez (79) tied for 23rd. Individually, Bryson Hannah carded an 81.
 
Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Jules De Reu leads the field, shooting evan par.
